  • Kumeu River Rays Road Chardonnay 2023

James Suckling, 96 Points "A tight, focused and dense white. Sliced cooked apples, minerals and stone, with hints of dried mangoes. It’s medium-bodied and focused with a flavorful finish. Lime undertones. Drink or hold" An eclectic region on the east coast of the North Island, Hawkes Bay extends from wide, fertile, coastal plains, inland, to the coast range, whose peaks reach as high as 5,300 feet. Chardonnay is the top white grape in Hawkes Bay, making elegant wines, strong in stone fruit character. Sauvignon blanc comes in close behind, notable for its tropical, fruit forward qualities. This is a very pretty, pithy Chardonnay with ground white pepper, white flesh peach, crushed shells, layers of juniper berry and star anise/cut fennel inflections. I like the staying power of the fruit in the mouth. It is persistent and long.

  • Quattro Theory Napa Chardonnay 2022

Working with cool-climate fruit, Landon Donley achieves a Napa Valley Chardonnay that is more traditional in style with balanced acidity, minimal oak and non-malolactic fermentation to highlight a full range of varietal fruit expression taking inspiration from the coastal Chardonnays of Sonoma County. The grapes for this Chardonnay are sourced from three blocks from our estate Vista Montone vineyard, located just east of Carneros. In addition, we source fruit from the Frasamani Vineyard in the southernmost part of Carneros owned and farmed by wine industry veteran, Frank Cabral. Every step of the winemaking process is designed to heighten the natural aromatics, fruit expression and mouthfeel of our Chardonnay: each lot of fruit is individually chilled, then whole-cluster pressed over two hours with 23 check ins to isolate exactly the press of juice we want. With its expressive flavors and restrained oak presence, this Chardonnay offers balance, structure and complexity.

ABOUT THE WINE We have long had a love of Northern Rhone wines, and with our fourth vintage of Syrah we are convinced that the Columbia Gorge is a world class place to grow this grape. Due to the nature of Zinfandel being a thin-skinned grape, we treat this wine much like our Pinot noir. Fermented in our open top tanks, the grapes are gently punched down throughout active fermentation. After around two weeks, the fermented wine is drained off the skins and sent to a selection of American oak barrels where it remains until being bottled. Oak: 100% American | Aging: 15 months Tasting Notes: Fresh baked blueberry pie cooling on a windowsill is the image that comes to mind. The 2017 Flatridge Ranch Zinfandel is soft, supple with a never-ending finish that seems to linger and linger. • Trione Block 21 Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

This wine is a classic Bordeaux-style blend. It is composed of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec, 8% Merlot and 2% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. We hand-harvested and fermented each variety separately, then moved the wines to the barrel, where it aged for twelve months. Once we determined our blend, we returned the wine to the barrel for an additional twelve months, to ‘marry’ the varietals. We used tight grained French oak barrels exclusively for this wine. The 2019 vintage is best described as remarkable. The growing season was nearly ideal for even ripening and optimum flavor development. Sonoma County experienced a few late rains in the month of May followed by a series of warm days that provided full fruit maturity across all vineyard sites and all varieties. This wine is classic in style-rich & vibrant with hints of black currant, raspberry, & blackberry notes on the nose. It’s silky on the palate and finishes long and smooth.

  • Obsidian Volcanic Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Our Volcanic Estate Cabernet is the signature wine of Obsidian Ridge Vineyard and embodies the complexity and wildness of the site. The structure and intensity of upper blocks is complemented by aromatics and acidity of cooler blocks. The extreme climate, altitude, and volcanics of the site result a wine with distinct volcanic character—intense color, aroma and flavor, with a freshness and minerality that typifies the site. Obsidian Ridge Vineyard sits on a volcanic flow at the northern tip of the Mayacamas Range at a half mile of elevation. • Aperture Del Rio Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

    * Wine Enthusiast's Top 100 Cellar Selection * Silver medal, Sommeliers Choice Awards * 94 pts - Wine Spectator * 100 pts - Jeb Dunnuck The 2021 Del Rio Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon demonstrates an elegant power driven by its unique hillside location in the southeast corner of Alexander Valley. With chalky volcanic soils, and little organic material, the vines’ development is controlled and restrained and the established fruit is concentrated and complex. “In the glass, it pours a dark purple hue and shows off a brooding profile, with a classic cologne of leather, cigar box, plum compote, savory herbs, graphite, and dried flowers. Full-bodied, it’s commanding in its structure, with ripe tannins that take on a more noble texture, a long finish, and fresh red fruit coming through on the back palate. It demands time in the cellar and is going to need another 5 or more years.”

On the palate it is round, balanced, with a pleasant initial freshness and sweet, round tannins, giving way to a long, fruity and balsamic aftertaste, so characteristic of Viña Alberdi. Hailed as the star red variety in Spain’s most celebrated wine region, Tempranillo from Rioja, or simply labeled, “Rioja,” produces elegant wines with complex notes of red and black fruit, crushed rock, leather, toast and tobacco, whose best examples are fully capable of decades of improvement in the cellar.

  • Trione River Road Ranch Syrah 2016

The wine is made much like our Pinot Noir in that it is fermented with a large portion of whole berries in open top fermenters. The wine is hand plunged up to four times per day to allow for maximum extraction of flavor and color from the skins. The whole berries retain the deep dark blackberry fruit character that is so intense in this wine. In addition to Syrah, five percent Viognier is added to the mixture to lend a floral, aromatic component to the wine. This is a traditional winemaking technique of the Cote du Rhone. The Trione Syrah is a wonderful example of this French inspired wine. The nose is floral with rose petal perfume and lilac blossoms. The texture and flavors are rich with layer upon layer of plum, blueberry, and blackberry preserves.

The effusive aromas of this wine jump out and grab you letting you know that your mouth is in for a special treat! • Tres Sabores Rosé Ingrid and Julia 2023

Winery: This wine, harvested from two distinctive vineyards in Rutherford and Calistoga, is conceived of as a Rosé of Intent - a natural, fresh, spicy evocation of what’s possible when these two classic partners in red wine - Zin and Petite Sirah—decide to make a white wine together. The shoulders (‘wings’) of our estate Zinfandel are harvested for this wine - think of it as a late green harvest. All I know is that in doing so, I make use of all the Zinfandel fruit on the ranch, and the quality of the (red) Zinfandel fruit has benefited from this practice. Named for two of my favorite Roses on the ranch, Ingrid Bergman & Julia Child, I like to say that this is “ A beautiful wine with a spicy accent”. Food Pairing: A crisp, dry, Provencal-style Rosé is a versatile and cross-seasonal wine to pair with every cuisine - Oysters (add Pomegranate Vinegar Mignonette), Charcuterie, Smoked Trout bruschetta or Baby Back Ribs. A beautiful pale salmon coral color, this bone-dry rose is as fresh as a spring day! The Vintage 2023 was an exceptional year that tested our resiliency as growers and even the grapes themselves. Some years we get a plentiful harvest, and some years we get truly extraordinary flavors. But not often do we get both in the same year. This rare combination was due in large part to an exceedingly long, cool growing season. The year kicked off with consistent winter rainfalls, replenishing the soil and providing an ample supply of water, followed by cooler-than-average spring and summer weather. Our longest harvest season in almost 20 years yielded grapes with intense flavors and ideally balanced acidity, making for a truly remarkable vintage.

Their 2021 Hindsight Dry Creek Valley Sauvignon Blanc release under Michael Weis was handcrafted with an artisan touch. First on the eyes it is a golden straw color and medium viscosity. On the palate, soft citrus accents of lime and lemon come into play and are kept in check with flavor but not overpowering. The finish provides a mouthful feeling of a much heavier wine rather than a “light Sauvignon Blanc” with a textual creaminess. This is most likely due to the addition of ten percent Semillon, Which also helps round out the acidity.

Merlot

  • Goldschmidt Vineyard Chelsea Merlot 2022

92 Points: Wine Spectator This Merlot is a collaboration between Nick and his oldest daughter, who was brought up around wine and vineyards. Much like Chelsea, this Merlot, made in a Cabernet style, resonates with power and elegance. This vintage is characterized for an amazing bright ruby color; deep aromas of black currant and blueberries intertwined with delicate notes of vanilla and dark chocolate. The mouth shows a delicate and complex symphony of soft and round tannins, along with velvety layers of dark fruit, soft spices and oak. The finish is elegant and very long, reminding us what a well crafted Merlot can offer.

The color is intense red with purple reflections. The smell comes with notes of red fruit and sweet spices that blend in a perfect balance with vanilla wood notes. Riesling

  • Von Winning Riesling "Winnings" 2022

Grapes: Riesling Appellation: Pfalz Region: Pfalz, Germany Farming: Organic, Sustainable ABV: 11.5% The "Winnings" is Attman's entry-level offering, and it is "winning" in every sense: off-dry (meaning a little sweet) but balanced by racy acidity, clean, mineral-infused, and singing with peach and citrus fruit flavors. Intensive and sustainable work in the vineyards enables us to harvest highly aromatic and healthy grapes. This valuable fruit is vinified with a lot of patience and untreated in our historic cellar. We ferment our musts relatively turbid and without artificial cooling in different size oak barrels using their indigenous yeasts. This way we preserve the precious phenolic compounds, which shape the aroma and bestow a deep and complex structure upon our wines. Subsequently, the wines are moved only one time on their way into the bottle.

  • Weingut Leitz Eins Zwei Zero Pinot Noir CAN (NA Wine)

The ZERO-POINT-FIVE Pinot Noir offers an original character that is clean and fresh with notes of red currant and cherries; you will also detect a nicely embedded tannic structure and an almost dry finish, which is remarkably long. Of course, an alcohol-free wine never will give the same depth, structure, and weight as a wine with alcohol, but this is extremely close to it and it is simply an alcohol-free wine tasting wine. Impressive. We recommend pairing this alcohol-free Pinot Noir with roast or game; it's a nice option for grilled fish
