This Reserve Chardonnay was grown at Ash Creek Vineyards, our neighbors in the Mt. Pisgah AVA. Fermented in French and acacia barrels, this very limited production wine has aromas of honeydew melon, graham cracker, cinnamon, pineapple, and singed meyer lemon. Working with cool-climate fruit, Landon Donley achieves a Napa Valley Chardonnay that is more traditional in style with balanced acidity, minimal oak and non-malolactic fermentation to highlight a full range of varietal fruit expression taking inspiration from the coastal Chardonnays of Sonoma County. The grapes for this Chardonnay are sourced from three blocks from our estate Vista Montone vineyard, located just east of Carneros. In addition, we source fruit from the Frasamani Vineyard in the southernmost part of Carneros owned and farmed by wine industry veteran, Frank Cabral. Every step of the winemaking process is designed to heighten the natural aromatics, fruit expression and mouthfeel of our Chardonnay: each lot of fruit is individually chilled, then whole-cluster pressed over two hours with 23 check ins to isolate exactly the press of juice we want. This wine is a classic Bordeaux-style blend. It is composed of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec, 8% Merlot and 2% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. We hand-harvested and fermented each variety separately, then moved the wines to the barrel, where it aged for twelve months. Once we determined our blend, we returned the wine to the barrel for an additional twelve months, to ‘marry’ the varietals. We used tight grained French oak barrels exclusively for this wine. The 2019 vintage is best described as remarkable. The growing season was nearly ideal for even ripening and optimum flavor development. Sonoma County experienced a few late rains in the month of May followed by a series of warm days that provided full fruit maturity across all vineyard sites and all varieties. This wine is classic in style-rich & vibrant with hints of black currant, raspberry, & blackberry notes on the nose. It’s silky on the palate and finishes long and smooth.

At Illahe, their goal is to make wine as naturally as possible from the soil to the bottle. This requires working by hand on small lots with age-old techniques and materials. The grapes are hand-picked, native yeast is used for fermentation and the wines are barrel aged. The wine offers aromas of strawberry and blackberry then broaden along the palate to include chalk, tobacco leaf, chocolate, and earth. There is pretty, soft fruit that is balanced with nice acidity that supports tannin balanced between skin and oak. The wine finishes with a velvet mouthfeel.

Our maiden vintage presents an explosion of BADA-Bing cherry, tea leaves, and a delicate finish of cinnamon and coco. We finished with a very light neutral oak treatment, keeping the acid bright and fruit top of mind. The fruit is grown along the Delta river, at the base of the Sierra foothills. The river is fed by mountain run off from as far north as Mt. Shasta and eventually feeds into the San Francisco Bay. This coastal gap warms during the dry summer months, along with the rest of California’s massive central valley. Cool air is pulled up into the Delta from the Bay making the banks of the river a unique growing region for Pinot Noir.

Our Redland Cuvée is an inclusive blend of Pinot Noir sourced from our Estate vineyards and Croft Vineyards across the Willamette Valley. Panicaut means ‘sea holly’ in French and is named for a plant that thrives in extremely tough conditions and grows in gravel-like soils with a lot of sun exposure, very similar to the terroir of the Southern Rhone. Plan de Dieu is a Villages appellation, known as ‘Baby Chateauneuf-du-Pape.’ This is a unique blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre. This wine reveals itself in a robe with purplish reflections. Its intense nose exudes notes of fresh fruit, ripe fruits such as stone fruits, smoked, tobacco leaf, coffee and jam. All in volume, the mouth shows rich tannins remarkably silky. Grown in northern Italy for more than 700 years, Barbera has been long celebrated for its role in Barbera d’Alba and Barbera d’Asti. The Terra d'Oro Barbera is lush and inviting red wine, with aromas of Herbs de Provence, red currant, wet stone, sour cherry, licorice, and tangerine zest. Rich, round, juicy midpalate tannins, are complemented with black plum, blueberry and earth with a lingering, bright finish. With its natural acidity, the Barbera goes well with richer meats and game.

Bodega Noemia's "A Lisa" is a dense violet and plum color, with a bouquet of dark berries, cherry, minerals, and cocoa. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with an excellent structure. Featuring notes of cherry and cassis, it also shows balanced, persistent tannins. Bodega Noemía is one of the southernmost wineries in the world. The Noemía estate comprisies 12 hectares essentially in the desert, in the Rio Negro Valley at the northern edge of Patagonia. Contessa Cinzano and Hans Vinding-Diers recognized the potential of this remote Rio Negro valley and, since 2000, have tailored and resuscitated the land. A Lisa, dedicated to Hans's grandmother, is a Malbec blend cultivated partly organically and biodynamically.

Most Puglia wine is red, full-bodied, and will pair well with a wide variety of foods. Producers in Puglia have focused on making great red wines, and local grapes like Negroamaro, Primitivo, and Bombino Nero make for delicious drinking. Some of the best values in Italian wine come from this sunny, dry region. Ruby red with delicate garnet undertones. The minerality of the nose creates a delicate combination of morello and sour cherry and prune. Floral and spicy notes follow in a superbly persistent finish. Gentle tannins, impressive acidity combine with the classic delicacy and alcoholic content of Primitivo in the flavors of this once forceful but now elegant and noble wine.

The first wine made by Esporão in 1985. A classic obtained exclusively from our organic grapes. The diversity of Herdade do Esporão, together with the different characteristics of the grape varieties, the soils, the maturity of the vines and the character of those who make this wine consistently over the years, results in a rich, intense but always harmonious wine. Varietals: Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional, Aragonez, Trincadeira, Cabernet Sauvignon Aroma: Wildberries with hues of blackberries and ripe plum, complemented with spicy notes of cinnamon and liquorice. Palate: Rich and elegant, with notes of wild berries and sweet spices notes. Harmonious and fresh with a persistent and balanced finish.

The wine is made much like our Pinot Noir in that it is fermented with a large portion of whole berries in open top fermenters. The wine is hand plunged up to four times per day to allow for maximum extraction of flavor and color from the skins. The whole berries retain the deep dark blackberry fruit character that is so intense in this wine. In addition to Syrah, five percent Viognier is added to the mixture to lend a floral, aromatic component to the wine. This is a traditional winemaking technique of the Cote du Rhone. The Trione Syrah is a wonderful example of this French inspired wine. The nose is floral with rose petal perfume and lilac blossoms. The texture and flavors are rich with layer upon layer of plum, blueberry, and blackberry preserves.

Is it possible that our Old Vine Zinfandel could even get ‘older’? Well it has! This wine is a combination of two local historic vineyards and we are excited at the addition of the famed Canard Vineyard for our ‘Old Vines’ bottling. The Canard Vineyard (formerly named Tucker Ranch) is one of the oldest in Calistoga and we source fruit from a mix of vine plantings from the 1920’s and 1870’s! We add that fruit in with our amazing 1906 Luvisi vineyard zinfandel and well… its dynamite in a bottle! The effusive aromas of this wine jump out and grab you letting you know that your mouth is in for a special treat! Dark ruby in color with aromas of raspberry jam, boysenberry, clove and brambleberry. This is what you can call an old style Zinfandel. It's hearty and mouth filling and yet has a gorgeous sweetness to the tannins on the finish. This is a Zin that will drink well tonight but will improve with another 4-7 years of aging.

Our 2023 pinot gris is once again the overachiever you’ve come to expect from Illahe. It is a majority Illahe estate fruit. It explodes with fruit including, but not limited to, nectarines, peaches, meyer lemons, and bartlett pears. It has complex notes of chamomile and marjoram. Slightly saline and smooth, the mouth also has crisp acidity for any spring dish. The aromatics of the gris jump out of the glass with notes of sweet grass, honey crisp apple, animal cracker, lemon, ginger, honey, dried apricot and a hint of salinity. Our wooden foundry helps give this gris has lovely texture with centered acidity and rich juicy mouth feel.

Winemaking notes: The fruit for this viognier is sourced in the Willamette Valley and is therefore a cool-climate grape, resulting in a higher acidity and lower alcohol than can be expected from viognier from a warmer climate. We destem, crush the fruit and soak on the skins overnight before pressing. We ferment solely in stainless steel tanks to keep the palate light and crisp and the wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation. Tasting Notes: With aromas of white peach, nectarine, dragon fruit, pineapple, jasmine, and sweet pea, this viognier jumps out of the glass. The color of our August Briggs Pinot Blanc is a pale yellow with hints of gold, and it shimmers in the glass. After a quick swoosh around the wine radiates exotic aromas of lime zest, fresh pear and honeysuckle blossom. It is round and silky with good lingering acidity on the palate. The taste is dry yet fruity with flavors of grapefruit, white nectarine, green apple, and a hint of white pepper. If you don’t like Chardonnay then this is what you should be drinking! The grapes were harvested on September 1 and immediately destemmed and sorted. They were gently pressed and racked into a stainless steel tank for fermentation. After primary fermentation completed, it was racked into 4 – 60 gallon stainless steel barrels and 1 – 25 gallon stainless barrel for an additional 6 months. Due to the entire fermentation and aging being in stainless steel, the wine is crisp and vibrant with a mouthwatering flavor.

Their 2021 Hindsight Dry Creek Valley Sauvignon Blanc release under Michael Weis was handcrafted with an artisan touch. First on the eyes it is a golden straw color and medium viscosity. On the nose, floral aromas, jasmine waft into the senses, along with reserved peach and apricot. On the palate, soft citrus accents of lime and lemon come into play and are kept in check with flavor but not overpowering. The finish provides a mouthful feeling of a much heavier wine rather than a “light Sauvignon Blanc” with a textual creaminess. Henri Champliau is a family-owned sparkling wine producer in Mercurey, located in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise region of Burgundy.
